Dr. Boqing Chen, MD, PhD is the Medical Director of the Center for Advanced Pain Management and Rehabilitation, LLC. 

Dr. Chen is a well-known leader and expert in the field of Pain Management and Musculoskeletal Medicine with over 25 years of clinical experience, solid basic medical knowledge, numerous written publications in peer reviewed journals, and a wealth of teaching experience. He holds multiple board certifications in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Management, Sports Medicine, and Electro-Diagnostic Medicine. He also serves as Site Director of the Pain Management and Musculoskeletal Medicine Fellowship Program at New Jersey Medical School (NJMS). He and his team have successfully treated countless patients by alleviating their pain and suffering. You are in good hands with Dr. Chen! 

Dr. Chen graduated from Fujian Medical University in China in 1983 in the top 3 of a class of nearly 400 medical students. He received two years of general surgical training followed by three years of neurological surgical training at the famous Center for Neurological Study, World Health Organization Shanghai Medical University. He then came to the USA and completed a PhD study focused on Neuroscience at Wayne State University’s School of Medicine. After passing the USMLE test, he received 14 months of clinical training within the Department of Internal Medicine at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He then entered and finished residency training at the world-famous Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation/UMDNJ residency program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Upon graduation, his written Board Certification examination score was 99.6 (Top 3) amongst approximately 400 examinees.

During his tenure as an outpatient attending physician at NJMS (formerly UMDNJ) from 1998 through 2002, Dr. Chen pioneered an Interventional Pain Management service for treating various spinal pain conditions. He authored a chapter in Spinal Injection Procedures in a textbook by Dr. Joel A. DeLisa and a chapter in Epidural Steroid Injection for Medscape which has circulated worldwide.  

Dr. Chen is currently leading a team of experts in both Western and Eastern Medicine in Pain and Musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr. Chen’s expertise is in early and accurate diagnosis of pain and musculoskeletal conditions. He is a world class expert in image guided spinal injection procedures for pain, minimally invasive procedures for spinal and nerve pain, state of the art ultrasound guided joint injection procedures for treating arthritis, and in a cutting-edge technique for regenerative medicine using PRP and Stem Cells to treat arthritis and disc pain.
